Cambridge go into the last day of the season sitting in an automatic promotion spot after a solid 3-0 win against Barrow.
The U’s just need a win at Crewe next weekend to secure promotion. Meanwhile, Barrow dropped to the bottom of the table and now have to beat Newport next weekend if they want to stay in the EFL.

The game was pretty much decided when Cambridge took the lead in the 34th minute. Dom Ball’s cross was headed back across goal by Liam Bennett, and Ben Knight was there to slot it home.
Knight missed a great chance just before half-time, and after the break, goalkeeper Wyll Stanway made a key save to stop James Brophy, who had been set up by Knight.
The second goal felt inevitable and finally came in style in the 57th minute. James Gibbons steadied himself then blasted a powerful shot from distance that Stanway couldn’t stop.
Sixteen minutes from time, Adam Mayor’s corner caused trouble for Stanway again, who ended up diverting the ball into his own net for Cambridge’s third goal.
