We’re saddened to share that Ron Mc Collum passed away on April 22, 2026, after complications from a stroke.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Lorna; his dear daughter, Montana; his faithful dog, Kokomo; his brother Redge (Carol); and nieces and nephew-Lori, Joanne, and Terry.
Ron worked as a journeyman electrician for many years. He took real pride in his work and was known for being hardworking with steady hands.
In his downtime, Ron loved fishing. He enjoyed spending time out on the water, especially at Obonga and with family around Nipigon Bay and Lake Superior. Those spots brought him peace and some of his happiest moments.
People often talked about Ron’s stubborn streak, great storytelling skills, and quick wit. Whether telling a story or cracking a joke, he had a way of making folks smile and bringing them together.
He’ll be remembered as someone who cared deeply for family and friends – a loyal guy who was loved by all lucky enough to know him.
The family wants to thank everyone for their kindness, love, and support during this tough time.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be planned when the weather warms up later on.
The arrangements are being handled by Simpler Times Cremation Centre at 575 Central Avenue in Thunder Bay.
