Suspects break into Cambridge home

There have been a number of break-ins over the past few weeks around Waterloo Region, especially in Cambridge.

The police released a statement asking folks to check their security camera footage after some unknown suspects broke into a home and caused damage to property.

This happened on October 3rd sometime between 7:45 and 8:30 p. m. The suspects got inside a house on Spooner Crescent and took some personal items. Authorities are reminding everyone to stay alert, lock your doors and windows, and consider installing alarm systems.

Just last week, police also warned residents in Silver Heights, another area of Cambridge, to be cautious because of several break-ins happening there.

According to another press release from the police, they’re investigating three break-and-enters at homes that happened between September 3rd and 22nd. People living near Baldwin, Silverthorne, Henwood Drives, and Horton Walk are asked to review any security camera footage from September 16th through the 22nd for anything or anyone suspicious.

Police Advice:

  • Always keep doors and windows locked, even when you’re home
  • Keep valuables out of common areas where they can be easily seen
  • Use audible alarm systems that make noise if triggered
  • Set up video cameras covering both front and back of your house
  • Let neighbors know if you’ll be away for a while and ask them to watch your place
  • If you spot anyone or any vehicle acting weird around your area, call the police right away
