The two-day event ended Sunday with nearly 700 rowers competing this year.
There were 51 eight-person rowing teams, 10 quadruple-scull crews, and 14 single scullers registered for the regatta, which was split into college, club, elite, and youth divisions.
Well-known crews from Cambridge University, Oxford Brookes University boat club, and Australia’s national team all made their first appearances in the elite races.
Cambridge’s crew grabbed the title in the elite men’s eight 500-meter sprint on Sunday while Australia’s women won the elite eight-woman 500-meter sprint. On Saturday’s longer 4.2-kilometer chase race, Cambridge again took first place for men and Australia won for women.
A total of 14 Chinese universities joined in the college-level events including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and University of Hong Kong.
The biggest winners at college level were Xi’an Jiao Tong University and Chinese Culture University from Taiwan. Xi’an Jiao Tong won both the men’s eight chase (4.2 km) and sprint (500 m), while Chinese Culture took top spots in mixed eight chase and sprint races.
