Lincoln City are aiming to keep their strong League One run going when they face Cambridge United at Sincil Bank Stadium on Tuesday night.

Lincoln has been impressive so far in 2024, currently riding an 11-game unbeaten streak in League One with six wins included.

Michael Skubala’s team has taken four victories from their last five league matches, including a commanding 5-1 win over Barnsley on Saturday afternoon-a top-five side-which sent a clear message across the league.

Sitting ninth with 55 points from 37 games, Lincoln trails sixth-place Stevenage by six points as they enter the critical final stretch of the season.

The Imps have earned 28 points at home this season from 18 league fixtures and remain unbeaten at Sincil Bank since late last year.

They’ll look to complete a league double over Cambridge after beating them 3-0 when these two met back in November.

On the other hand, Cambridge come into this game off a 1-1 draw with Northampton Town on Saturday afternoon, which ended a tough four-game losing skid in League One.

Their recent form is worrying-they’ve lost six out of eight games-dropping them down to 19th place with 39 points from 36 outings.

Garry Monk’s squad holds just a five-point gap above relegation and still faces four matches this month against Lincoln, Reading, Wycombe Wanderers, and Barnsley.

This season away from home hasn’t been kind to Cambridge either-they’ve only managed three wins and picked up just 13 points from 17 away matches-the third worst away record in the division.

Their last League One win came mid-February with a big 4-0 victory over bottom club Carlisle United.

No new injury worries for Lincoln following their match against Barnsley on Saturday. Expect mostly the same lineup for Tuesday’s game versus Cambridge.

A change might come up front though-Jack Moylan scored twice off the bench last time and looks set to start this time around.

The Imps will probably stick with their usual 3-4-3 setup. Ben House should keep his spot despite Jovon Makama scoring off the bench recently.

For Cambridge, manager Garry Monk is likely to stick with the same starting eleven that drew against Northampton last weekend.

Elias Kachunga grabbed his fifth league goal of the season to earn that point and he’ll probably pair again with Lyle Taylor up front.

Sullay Kaikai and Macauley Bonne could come into consideration but seem likely to remain among substitutes once more on Tuesday night.

Lincoln City possible starting lineup: Jensen; Mitchell, O’Connor, Roughan; Sorensen, Mandroiu, Erhahon, Hackett; House; Taylor, Moylan

Cambridge United possible starting lineup: Stevens; L Bennett , R Bennett , Morrison , Andrew ; Lankester , Cousins , Digby , Brophy ; Taylor , Kachunga

Our prediction: Lincoln City 2-0 Cambridge United

Lincoln are pushing hard for playoffs thanks to great recent results. We expect them to take another three points here against a Cambridge side who have lost ten out of seventeen away games this season so far.
