Cambridge United is gearing up to set a new world record for the Most signatures on a piece of sports memorabilia…
Cambridge United is excited to share that they’re going for a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for ‘Most signatures on a piece of sports memorabilia,’ thanks to a generous donation from U’s fan Nigel Fletcher, who’s connected with International Sports Convention.
The attempt will run through November, with the Club trying to top the current record of 2,089 signatures held by Kawasaki Frontale in Japan. They’ll be using a huge 40XL home shirt and collecting autographs at several events around the city.
About the effort, CEO Alex Tunbridge said, “Undertaking the record attempt provides us with an opportunity to engage with new people and demographics within our city. We intend to use the attempt to engage with schools, businesses and other community organisations, allowing them to participate in the record attempt and learn about the football club.”
Fans can add their signature on this giant shirt during home games against Wigan Athletic and Burton Albion later this month. The shirt will be set up behind the new Club Shop before kickoff so everyone can sign it easily.
If you represent a local school or group and want us to bring the shirt over, just drop an email at supporterservices@cambridgeunited. com.
