Cambridge 1-2 Leyton Orient | Football News

Cambridge are now on the edge of dropping out of League One after a 2-1 defeat against Leyton Orient.

The U’s were ahead for much of the match thanks to Josh Stokes, but Charlie Kelman and Jamie Donley turned things around in the last 20 minutes.

Early chances went Leyton Orient’s way but Jack Stevens kept them at bay with a sharp low save from Donley’s free-kick before Cambridge fell behind after 17 minutes.

Sullay Kaikai got free down the left side and his deep cross was flicked back by Ryan Loft for Stokes to head in.

Leyton had few clear shots after going behind but managed to equalize in the 67th minute. Substitute Dan Agyei crossed from the right, and Kelman headed it home, marking his tenth goal in nine games.

Just moments after Shayne Lavery came on for Cambridge and shot over, Donley struck an amazing dipping shot from outside the box with about 12 minutes left to play.

If Cambridge don’t manage a win at Burton this Saturday, they’ll be relegated.
