Boston Latin came into Cambridge’s War Memorial Gymnasium ready to play tough defense, limiting the 15th-ranked Falcons to just 6 points in the first quarter during a 58-53 win on the road for the Wolfpack (19-1, 9-1 Dual County League).
Sophomore guard Will White led scoring with 25 points, and senior wing Yakub Fiin chipped in 20. Senior guard Jadon Berkson also knocked down important shots late in the game.
Junior Max Mendoza started inside but ran into early foul trouble, so 6-foot-6-inch senior Evan Dalmanieras took over controlling the paint.
“We stick to our script,” said Boston Latin coach Jean Etienne. “We made some adjustments and tried to attack matchups we felt were favorable for us on the offensive side and stuck to our defensive principles.”

Senior Jackson Prinn and freshman Dennis Lynch helped round out the defense as the Wolfpack held off a late rally from the Falcons (14-3, 8-2) to finish their regular season with the best overall record in the Dual County League.
“We’ve been doing it all season,” said Etienne, pointing out that Fiin was hurt during their only loss, a buzzer-beater at Waltham. “We’ve had some big wins against outstanding competition in our league. We’re not the most talented team, but we play hard, and when the shots start falling, it’s fun to watch.”
