APSA Announces Renewed Partnership with Cambridge University Press -

The American Political Science Association (APSA) is excited to share that we’ve decided to continue working with Cambridge University Press. They’ll keep publishing our three main APSA journals along with six section journals: American Political Science Review, Perspectives on Politics, PS: Political Science & Politics, Journal of Experimental Political Science, Journal of Law and Courts, Journal of Race, Ethnicity, and Politics, Politics and Gender, Politics and Religion, and State Politics and Policy Quarterly.

This came after a competitive bidding process involving an APSA Working Group, the APSA Council, many association members and experts in the field, plus advice from outside consultants at Clarke & Esposito.

Dr. Kimberly A. Mealy, APSA Executive Director
Dr. Kimberly A. Mealy, Executive Director of APSA, said:

“Cambridge has been a trusted partner of the Association for over 20 years. We enthusiastically look forward to their continued collaboration as our publisher and importantly their guidance and leadership on key issues such as AI, Open Access, research funding and academic freedom, which continue to challenge the scholarly community.”

Mandy Hill, Managing Director of Academic Publishing at Cambridge University Press, said:

“We are delighted to extend our long-running partnership with the American Political Science Association. The APSA journals deliver exceptional quality and diversity, leading the way at a time of great change in both publishing and academia. We look forward to ensuring their ongoing success through close engagement with the APSA leadership, the journal editors, and the global community of members.”

APSA appreciates all our leaders in the association along with volunteers from membership groups, editors involved in these journals plus staff who put in lots of effort during this past year as we explored options for moving forward with our nine top-tier publications. This renewed partnership means that both the association itself as well as its sections will have what they need to support editorial teams along with programs run by APSA while also giving room for adjusting to new business trends or shifts happening across academic publishing.
