WALKER: Steven of Thorndale

Steven William Howard Walker, a man who loved his family deeply, passed away on March 14, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London. He was married to Jane (Elston) Walker for 43 years and was a devoted father to Benjamin, Jeffrey, and Danielle. He was also a proud grandpa to Clark and Cole. Steven was the brother and brother-in-law to Diane and Michael O’Shea, Katherine and Jim Grieve, Melanie and Vernon Thomson, Bob and Marilyn Walker, Tim and Teresa Walker, Paul Elston and Kim Lefebvre, Gary Elston, Nancy and Bruce Young, David and Joan Elston as well as John Elston and Valerie Hesser. He had many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly along with great nieces and nephews. His parents Howard and Jean (Febrey) Walker went before him along with his parents-in-law Edwin and Margaret (Cardiff) Elston; Libby (Hudson) Elston; plus his sister-in-law Donna Elston. Steven enjoyed spending time at large family get-togethers including relatives from the Walkers, Febreys, Elstons, Cardiffs, Prescotts, Hudsons, and Smiths.

Steven always believed in hard work whether it meant farming or construction work. His days rarely stuck to an 8-to-4 schedule since he often pitched in helping family or friends with their projects. He had a warm smile that you couldn’t miss along with a hearty laugh that filled the room. Steven genuinely cared about others-he would regularly ask how people were doing because he truly wanted to know. Also worth noting: he was a big supporter of Dairy Farmers of Canada – always enjoyed a cold glass of milk.

The family wants to say thanks for all the wonderful care Steven received from LHSC Medical Departments as well as everyone at St. Joseph’s Hospice.
