We’re heartbroken to share that our dear husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend has passed away.
John Young died on December 16, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospice with his family close by.
He spent 36 years working at Great Lakes Paper Mill. After retiring, he spent another eight years as the custodian at St. Andrews R. C Church.
John really enjoyed summers at the camp with his family. He liked fishing, golfing, going on walks, riding his bike, grabbing breakfast at the casino and running.
He was preceded in death by his parents, several sisters and most of his brothers.
John was a loving husband to Jean Young; stepfather to Noel Ducharme; father to Tanya (Matt) Demerse; grandpa to Ethan (Raylene) Mioduszewski, Keely Demerse (Kameron Currie), Hayden Demerse, Ryelee Demerse, Arabella Demerse and Kerah Demerse; and great-grandfather to Alice and Cassian. He was also a caring brother to Gary (Sandy) Young and Bob (Audrey) Young along with many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held January 15, 2026 at 10 a. m. at St. Andrew’s R. C. Church.
Visitation starts at 9 a. m.
The burial will take place later on an undetermined date.
