No injuries were reported Wednesday evening after a Grand River Transit bus crashed into the front porch of a house in Cambridge.

Police responded to the scene near Franklin Boulevard and Edward Street shortly after 7 p. m.

The bus had two passengers on board besides the driver when it happened.

Const. Brad Hickey from Waterloo Regional Police Service told Cambridge Chronicle that only property damage was found at the home.

The Region of Waterloo confirmed the crash took place but didn’t provide any further info.

Officials said the bus driver lost control and veered off the road before hitting the porch.

“Road and weather conditions were both factors in the collision,” police said.

Freezing rain fell throughout Wednesday across Waterloo region, which was under an orange weather warning until mid-afternoon. Later, it switched to a yellow warning for freezing drizzle expected to last into the evening.
