Police say a house fire in Cambridge on Thursday night is under investigation because they think it might be suspicious.
Emergency responders got called around 9 p. m. to Malcolm Street and Roseview Avenue after reports of a fire at a home. The firefighters put the blaze out, and everyone was safely cleared from the house, but the damage was pretty bad.
No one was hurt, according to reports.
Const. Chris Iden from Waterloo Regional Police Service confirmed that the same house had been involved in a shooting back in June, “however the investigation remains ongoing and there has been no confirmation the two incidences are related.”
The police said that “due to the nature of the incident” they’re treating this fire as suspicious. They’re also working closely with the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall on this case.
If anyone knows anything about what happened, police ask you to reach out or contact Crime Stoppers.
