Police looking for info in two break-and-enters in Kitchener, Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) are reaching out to residents in Kitchener and Cambridge following two home break-ins that happened last week.

They think the first break-in took place around 11:30 a. m. on April 16 near Highgrove Court and Dickie Settlement Road in Cambridge.

Less than an hour later, another house was broken into near Robert Ferrie Drive and Thomas Slee Drive in Kitchener. In that case, police say the homeowner came back while the suspects were still inside, which scared them off and they ran away on foot.

The police told 570 News Radio they don’t have much to go on yet. They’re not even sure how many suspects there are.

They’re asking people living near where these break-ins happened to check any Ring or other security camera footage for anything that might help their investigation.

This request goes out to folks around Robert Ferrie Dr., Thomas Slee Dr., Pieter Vos Dr., and Blair Creek Dr. They’re asked to look over their recordings from between noon and 2 p. m. on April 16.

The suspects were seen running away on foot and trying to change clothes, according to police.

If you know anything, please call the police at 519-570-9777, extension 8255.
