Police are asking parents and guardians to carefully check Halloween treats after someone in Cambridge found a pin nail inside a chocolate bar over the weekend.
Waterloo regional police got a call from a caregiver on Sunday around 6 p. m. ET after they spotted the tiny pin nail in the candy. A pin nail is a very small, thin, headless nail mostly used for fine woodworking jobs.
The chocolate bar was picked up on Oct. 31 near Sunset Boulevard and Saxony Circle, according to police.
No one was hurt.
Officers said they haven’t ruled out that the contamination might have happened during how the chocolate bar was made or packed.
If anyone knows anything, they’re asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
