Police raided a new Fun Guyz store in Cambridge, confiscating different types of magic mushrooms and arresting a 48-year-old woman.
On Thursday, local police served a search warrant at Vape Guys, located at 18 Ainslee St. South in downtown Galt.
Back in March, the magic mushroom seller Fun Guyz posted on its website about opening a “secret location” inside Vape Guys in Cambridge, aiming to keep expanding the psilocybin scene locally.
The reason behind this low-key spot probably ties into the fact that Fun Guyz shops across Waterloo Region and Ontario have been targeted by police multiple times before, including stores on King Street East in Preston and Victoria Street South and Park Street in Kitchener.
During Thursday’s raid, officers took various forms of psilocybin products like magic mushrooms as well as cash. A 48-year-old woman from Wilmot was arrested and charged with possession for trafficking.
“Businesses engaged in selling these products are operating unlawfully, and the substances they offer are neither regulated nor subject to standardized quality control measures,” said regional police in their press statement.
