Being home might have prevented a break-in at one residence.

That’s what the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) reported after a house in Cambridge’s west end was targeted Monday morning around 11 a. m.

Luckily, someone was inside when it happened, which made the two suspects drive off.

The incident took place near Salisbury Avenue and Freure Drive in West Galt.

The police are trying to track down those two suspects and are asking locals to check any security camera footage from between 10:30 a. m. and 11:15 a. m. on Dec. 8.

If anyone spots anything odd, they’re encouraged to reach out to the Waterloo Regional Police Service or Crime Stoppers.

Meanwhile, officers remind people to lock their windows and doors even when they’re home, keep valuables hidden from view, and consider installing alarms or cameras for extra safety.
