The individual couldn’t get off the tracks alone, and with a train arriving in just one minute, the police shared body cam footage of their quick rescue on Facebook.

Two officers from Cambridge police had to move quickly after being called about someone hurt on the Red Line tracks, the department said Wednesday.
The call came around 5 p. m. on Dec. 27 while the officers were at Central Square. They found out that someone had fallen onto the tracks inside the nearby MBTA station and couldn’t get up without help, according to a Facebook post by the department. The next train was due in one minute.
The officers didn’t have enough time to warn the train driver or cut power to the third rail, they explained. They rushed into the station, spotted the injured person right away, jumped down onto the tracks together, and pulled them out just in time-bodycam video shows this dramatic moment.
The person was later taken to a hospital for injury checks, Cambridge police said. It looks like it was an accident; there’s no ongoing criminal investigation related to this incident.
