The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is stepping up efforts to stop speeding along Hespeler Road in Cambridge.

Officers were out last Monday night running a traffic crackdown.

Within three hours-between 8 p. m. and 11 p. m.-they handed out 11 speeding tickets.

“Notably, four drivers were charged with stunt driving after being recorded travelling at speeds of up to 127 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone,” said WRPS in a social media post.

Those four accused of stunt driving got their licences suspended for a month and their cars taken away for two weeks.

The police stressed that going way over the speed limit and driving aggressively puts everyone on the road in danger. They’re asking drivers to be safe and stick to the speed limits.
