Cambridge United have brought in Blackburn Rovers’ Republic of Ireland Under 21 centre-back Connor O’Riordan on a loan deal for the whole season.
The 20-year-old joined the Championship side from his hometown club Crewe Alexandra back in January for an undisclosed fee.

He also came off the bench twice for Blackburn in the Championship during February.
“Connor is a very talented young defender and we are really happy to have secured his services,” Cambridge boss Garry Monk told the club website., external
“He adds another dimension to our defensive options and will provide fantastic competition to the squad.”
O’Riordan becomes the ninth player Cambridge have signed during this summer transfer window.
