Passed away peacefully at her charming heritage home in St. Williams, Ontario on Sunday, April 26, 2026, surrounded by a small group of family and close friends. She is survived by her husband and lifelong companion Jon Mc Cracken, her sisters-in-law Nancy and Judy, her beloved Siberian Husky (Cheyenne), several dear cousins, and many wonderful friends old and new.
Art was always part of Pam’s life from a young age. She attended the Ontario College of Art and Design, Western University, and Dalhousie University where she focused on silk screen printing. Later on, she learned metalsmithing through private lessons with master artist Lois Etherington Betteridge. Pam had a successful career as a commercial artist working in advertising and book publishing in Toronto. One of her standout achievements there was creating the iconic logo for Husky Energy. Eventually, she moved to cottage country to serve as Executive Director/Curator for Haliburton’s regional art gallery before settling in St. Williams where she built a reputation as a freelance artist specializing in gold and silver jewelry making. Her beautiful pieces were shown in numerous galleries. She also regularly participated in Toronto’s “One-of-a-Kind Show” and the Norfolk Studio Tour.
Pam threw herself into everything she tried-art, dance, gardening, upholstery work, horseback riding, gourmet cooking, competitive shooting sports, or birdwatching-she picked it up fast. Funny enough though, catching a ball was never one of her skills! Music and reading were great loves too-especially murder mysteries. She had huge compassion for all creatures with a special bond shared with dogs, rabbits, horses, and ravens.
She traveled widely across the globe picking up several languages along the way. Wherever Pam went she soaked up the natural beauty and culture around her deeply-and did all she could to help others appreciate our world while adding some extra beauty herself too. God must have liked that because He gifted her with an amazing sense of humor plus an infectious laugh.
Pam had endless energy despite facing health challenges over the years. Throughout it all she stayed fiercely independent, upbeat, strong-willed-and always stylishly dressed.
Cremation has been completed with no formal memorial planned at this time. Serenity Burial & Cremation Services Inc., located at 361 Main Street in Port Dover (226)290-9093 are handling arrangements.
