We’re very sad to share that Joel Andre Howard has passed away suddenly at 55 years old. He was a proud dad to Jacob Howard (Kayla) and Eve Howard. Joel was the son of Mary Howard and the late Peter Howard. He also leaves behind his sister Julie Stuifbergen (Anthony) and brother Peter Howard, along with their families. His nieces and nephews-Mariana Kacperski (Darek), Michaela Simmers (Troy), Katherine Kolkman (Thomas), Mary Deneau (Jordan), Joseph Judickas (Roni), Micheal Judickas (Molly), Meghan Stuifbergen, Lauren Stuifbergen, Alyssa Howard (Matt), and Braedan Howard (Taylor)-will remember him fondly. He was close to his aunts and uncles too, and also remembered by Tina-Marie (Van Boxmeer) Howard, who is Jacob and Eve’s mom.
Joel loved fishing and being outdoors whenever he could get the chance. Teaching at St. Joseph’s High School in St. Thomas meant a lot to him; he really cared about his students there. Sports were a big part of his life – playing, coaching, or just watching – always ready with some helpful tips or just having fun with it all. People also knew him for his cooking skills; those fire steaks and blooming onions were something else! His friends, family, and community will miss him a lot.
A gathering to celebrate Joel’s life will happen on Sunday, May 24th from 3 to 5 PM at the Lucan Community Memorial Centre located at 263 Main Street in LUCAN. The family will have a private burial service at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in London.
The family would be grateful for donations made in Joel’s name to Ronald Mc Donald House Southwestern Ontario.
