A man aged 57 from Cambridge, Ontario, now faces second-degree murder charges after authorities found a woman dead inside a local residence earlier this month.

Police were called to a Fletcher Circle address on Jan. 25 for a wellness check. That’s when they found the body of a 61-year-old woman.

The man, who was at the house during the call, was taken into custody immediately.

The police have confirmed that they’re treating this as a homicide but haven’t shared any further information about what caused the woman’s death.

They also said the two people involved likely knew each other.

The case remains under active investigation.
