Two drivers charged in two-vehicle Cambridge crash

Two drivers were charged after a weekend collision between two vehicles in Cambridge.

Just before noon on Saturday, first responders showed up at a crash involving an Audi SUV and a Honda sedan at the corner of Elgin Street North and Ferguson Avenue.

The 37-year-old man driving the Honda, along with two kids riding with him, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The 72-year-old man behind the wheel of the Audi didn’t get hurt.

After looking into what happened, Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) charged the 37-year-old driver for improper signaling and not properly securing child passengers.

The 72-year-old driver was charged for not yielding to traffic that had the right of way.

A statement from WRPS said, “Police remind caregivers that ensuring child seats are correctly installed and used according to manufacturer guidelines helps reduce the risk of injury in the event of a collision.”

Our Traffic Services Unit is continuing to investigate a serious two-vehicle collision in Cambridge.
