Obituary of Bora Apostolovski (nee Filipovski)

Bora Apostolovski, a woman full of strength, warmth, and kindness, passed away peacefully in her sleep to be with our Lord on January 21, 2026.

Bora’s life was marked by adventure and dedication. She was born in Vratnica, Macedonia, before moving to Aachen, Germany. That’s where she met Jovo, the love of her life. Together they later settled in Windsor, Ontario, where they built a wonderful life and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

During her time at Magna International, Bora wasn’t just hardworking-she also formed deep friendships. She earned the respect of both management and colleagues alike; many became close friends over the years.

After retiring, Bora enjoyed life’s simple pleasures wholeheartedly. Whether tending her garden, taking long walks, or catching up with friends over coffee and shopping trips, she always wore a warm smile. She loved playing cards and was happiest when surrounded by family-and especially her dog Bailey.

Bora will be remembered for her gentle but strong spirit. She was the neighbor who always offered help, the friend who showed up when needed most, and the center of her family’s love. Her quiet strength touched everyone lucky enough to know her.

She leaves behind those who adored her: husband Jovo; sons Ivica and Dejan; daughter-in-law Ana; grandchildren Olivia and Ashton-her pride and joy. Bora also had five sisters-Zora, late Menka, Ubavka, late Koca, and Slavanka-as well as a big loving circle of extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Slave and Milica.

The family wants to thank the kind staff at Tayfour Rehab and the Palliative Care Unit at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare for their outstanding care during Bora’s final days.

Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME – BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235), on Monday, January 26, 2026 from 3-5 pm and again from 7-9 pm with prayers at 7:30 pm. Visiting continues Tuesday morning at the Funeral Home starting with a prayer service at 9:00 am followed by a procession to St. Nicholas Macedonian Orthodox Church (5225 Howard Ave., La Salle) for funeral service at 10:30 am with Rev. Fr. Emil Atanasov officiating. Burial follows at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
