Local police are looking into a crash that took the life of a passenger in one of the two vehicles involved in a collision in Cambridge.
Authorities said in a news release they got called to the corner of Maple Grove and Speedsville roads around 11:40 a. m., just as snow began falling across the area.
Police described the crash as involving a white Hino truck and a silver Subaru hatchback. The driver of the Subaru, an 81-year-old man from Guelph, was rushed to a nearby hospital. Sadly, his passenger, a 77-year-old woman, died at the scene.
The truck’s driver, a 50-year-old man from Kitchener, wasn’t hurt.
Maple Grove Road between Boxwood Drive and Speedsville Road was reopened shortly after 4:30 Friday afternoon.
