Some good news just came through for Kentucky Women’s Basketball.
On Saturday morning, Kennedy Cambridge, a 5-foot-8 combo guard from Nashville, TN and part of the class of 2022, announced she’s committing to the Wildcats. She plays for the Ensworth School and is the fifth recruit to join this incoming class – the first full group under head coach Kyra Elzy.
She comes from a solid basketball family-her brother Devan plays at Auburn and her sister Jordyn suits up for Vanderbilt. Plus, her younger sister Jaloni also plays at Ensworth and is rated a five-star recruit in the class of 2024 by ESPN.
Before deciding on Kentucky, Cambridge was choosing between Auburn and Ole Miss.

In an interview with Tyler Palmateer from Main Street Preps, Cambridge revealed she actually committed quietly about a month ago but waited until March 26 to announce it so she could focus on competing in the Division II-AA state tournament. Ensworth went on to win that tournament by beating Lipscomb Academy 70-46 in the final game. Later on, both Kennedy and her sister Jaloni made it onto the All-Midstate First-Team.
This fall, Cambridge will join fellow freshmen Tionna Herron (TX), Saniah Tyler (MO), Amiya Jenkins (KY), and Cassidy Rowe (KY) on Kentucky’s roster. Just last Friday though, it was reported that starters Dre’Una Edwards, Jazmine Massengill, and Treasure Hunt all entered the transfer portal.
