Cambridge United have brought in Shane Mc Loughlin, who used to play midfield for Newport, along with Louis Appere, a striker from Stevenage.
Mc Loughlin, 28, can also slot into defense when needed. Last season he featured in 36 League Two matches but decided not to accept a new contract at Rodney Parade.
He’s a former Republic of Ireland youth international and started out at Ipswich before moving through clubs like AFC Wimbledon, Morecambe, and Salford City.
He trialed with the U’s during pre-season and is now their eighth signing this summer.
Appere, 26, has put pen to paper on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The Scottish forward scored once in 20 games for Stevenage last term.
