Waterloo Regional Police are searching for two suspects after what they believe was an attempted distraction theft in Cambridge.
On Jan. 10, around noon, officers were called to Franklin Boulevard and Elgin Street after an elderly woman was approached by a man and a woman sitting in a dark SUV.
The police say the woman got out of the vehicle and tried to put a necklace on the victim. The elderly lady stepped back, and some bystanders stepped in before the car drove away.
No one was hurt during this incident. Officers want to talk with anyone who was nearby at that time, including those who intervened.
The case is still being looked into.
