Zackery passed away quietly with his wife by his side, at the age of 27 after bravely fighting cancer for seven years, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario.
Zack was the devoted husband of Tori, loving son of Jason (Karen) and Shannon Burgess, caring brother to Emily Giroux (Dylan), Hannah Prince, and Annalise Smith, and proud uncle to Oliver.
People who knew Zack will remember his thoughtful surprises like game nights and home-cooked dinners. He enjoyed lively debates and had lots of hobbies-everything from chasing achievements in video games to 3D printing and running Pathfinder campaigns. He was always dreaming up new ways to have a good time.
Though his time here was too short, his tough spirit, love for raccoons, and how much he mattered to those around him won’t be forgotten.
His family is very grateful to Dr. Butler at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the kind staff at Hospice Wellington.
