February 15, 1944-March 22, 2026
We’re remembering Blair Roberts (his wife Anna passed in 2014), who died at age 82 at Sault Area Hospital. He was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia to Roderick and Evelyn Roberts.
Blair was the second child out of six siblings: the late Roderick Jr. (who was married to Norma), the late David (with Penny), the late Sheldon (and Christine), Ave Edington (married to Barry) from Guelph, and the late Julian.
The family moved to Garson, Ontario when Blair was 11 years old. That’s where he met Anna Guay when they were both teenagers-he was 15. They tied the knot three years later and then settled in Sault Ste. Marie.
Blair and Anna raised two daughters: Donna (married to Larry Cumming) and their daughter Renee who sadly passed away in 2015 (she was with Patrick Mc Mullen). They also had six grandchildren: Brett Hartley and Jordan Hartley (who has two daughters named Mila and Jane) plus Chris, Simon, Garrett, and Riley Mc Mullen. The family also includes eleven nieces and nephews.
He worked at Algoma Steel for over three decades before retiring in 1997 after 35 years on the job. Blair and Anna shared a marriage that lasted for 52 years-they’re now together again happily.
Donna along with her family want to thank all the caregivers who helped Dad during his last few years. She’d also like to give a shout-out to Great Lakes Honda for supporting their family through it all.
A heartfelt thanks goes especially to Dr. Luke Fera and RN Avery Duguay for taking such great care of Dad near the end.
The family will have a private funeral service. If you wish, donations can be made to either the SAH Foundation or ARCH; these can be sent online or by cheque.
