Trudy Reynolds, aged 74, from Orillia, Ontario, passed away suddenly on May 12, 2026 at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 18, 1952, in Koblenz, Germany to Sophia and Ernest Sauer. Her family moved to Toronto, Canada in 1959.
Trudy leaves behind her loving husband Larry Reynolds; daughter Bridget Forshaw; son Christopher Reynolds; daughter-in-law Lesley Reynolds; and her dear grandchildren Olivia and Grace Legros. She’ll also be remembered by her brothers-in-law Randy Reynolds and Gord Reynolds along with nephews and nieces Derek Reynolds, Cheryl Pilieci, Peter and Paul Sauer, and Kim Oleszczyk.
Her friends and family will miss her cheerful spirit, warm personality, bright outlook on life and kind smile. Trudy was always ready to help anyone in need – she’d give the shirt off her back without hesitation. People knew how much she cared about animals too-especially dogs. When she worked as a dog groomer, many clients became close friends over time.
The family asks that instead of flowers donations be made in Trudy’s name to the Jean Tweed Centre by calling 416-255-7359 ext 278 and choosing a “Tribute gift” or by emailing [email protected] with “Trudy Reynolds” in the message field. These donations will support the care of senior Schnauzers who come into their shelter. It would mean so much knowing that even after tragedy she could save one more life!

About Happy’s Place rescue:
Our Mission: Most of the older dogs we take in come from shelters where they face high risk of euthanasia because of age or medical problems. We also accept owner surrenders when people can no longer care for their senior pets due to illness or other reasons. We operate as a fully non-profit rescue.
