Mrs. Pina Curciarello (Stalteri), 81 years old, passed away quietly on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 25th, 1944, in Siderno, Calabria, Italy. When she was 23, Pina moved to Canada to be with her husband of 51 years, Domenico Curciarello.
Pina’s world always centered around her family; she gave everything she had to make sure those around her felt loved and cared for. She was incredibly strong and stood by her family through all their important moments. It’s hard to imagine filling the gap left by her passing. Besides family, she was a loyal friend to many and attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church regularly for comfort and support.
She will be deeply missed by her sons Antonio Curciarello and Giuseppe Curciarello; son-in-law John Kolic; and her dear grandchildren Luka and Gabriella Kolic.
Pina was preceded in death by her husband Domenico Curciarello and daughter Rosetta Curciarello-Kolic.
The funeral for Pina Curciarello will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. Everyone is welcome to join the Funeral Mass at noon with Fr. Luigi Filippini officiating. Visitation is from 11:00 a. m. until the service starts at the church located at 123 Hilldale Road. Afterward there’ll be a reception at Sargent and Sons Funeral Home on 21 North Court Street.
