Obituary for Anita Marie (Malloy) Neuman | Highland Park

NEUMAN, Anita Marie (nee Malloy)

She passed away peacefully with her family close by at Hospice Peterborough on Monday, May 25, 2026, just shy of her 67th birthday. Anita was married to Dana Neuman for 46 years and was a loving mom to Corey (Carly). She also adored her granddaughters Alexa, Blakelee and Kaia, plus her special dog Oakley. Daughter of Anna Mary and Pat Malloy, and daughter-in-law to Audrey and Walter Neuman. She was a twin sister to Anne Lavigne (Rick) and sister to Tom Malloy (Sue Freeburn), Claudine Crete (Gilles), Patricia Southern (Art), Ellen Rombough (Neil). She was also sister-in-law to the late Anne Baragar (the late Mac Laren), Terry Neuman (the late Betty), Bill Neuman (Gloria), Judy Sawyer (Ron), David Neuman (Dianne) and Shelley Bierworth (Bob). Many nieces and nephews will miss her dearly. Anita really enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved those family gatherings out at one of the many lakes where relatives or friends had cottages or homes. Springtime meant trips down to Myrtle Beach with family and pals for golf – then she’d keep golfing all summer with another group of buddies. Winters were long but she filled that time with jigsaw puzzles and walks outdoors. Anita volunteered at St. Alphonsus St. Vincent de-Paul Society where she met some wonderful friends too. She retired from the Ontario Government in 2012 after being diagnosed with breast cancer. For over 14 years she fought a tough battle with strength, faith, and grace that inspired everyone around her. Friends can visit the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 1:00-4:00 PM. Funeral Mass will take place at ST ALPHONSUS LIGOURI ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH at 1066 Western Ave., Peterborough on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 1:30 PM followed by burial at Highland Park Cemetery. A reception will be held afterward back at the funeral centre. In memory of Anita and instead of flowers, donations to Hospice Peterborough, St. Vincent de-Paul Society or PRHC Cancer Care would mean a lot to the family.
