Surrounded by his family and at peace, Enrico passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, aged 90.
He was the husband of Teresa for 67 years. A devoted dad known as “Babuzzo” to Fiore (Sue), Eugenio “Gigi” (Trish), Richard (Teresa), Grace Dick (Graeme) and Patricia. Proud grandpa to Michael (Alyssa), Anthony (Marissa), Nikki (Chris), Enrico (Melissa), Madeline (Zach), Matteo and Carson. Also a great-grandfather to Matteo, Luca, Lorenzo, Ricardo and Liliana. He was predeceased by his parents Grazia and Fioramante Ianni-Palarchio. Brother to Luigina (late Egidio) Mannarino, late Carmelina (late Joe Provenzano), late Michele (Nanda), Giovanni (late Tina), late Fernando (Franca) and Mario (Nadia). Son-in-law of the late Antonio and Mafalda Buffone. Brother-in-law to Joe Buffone (Cecile) and the late Eugenio Buffone (Rosina Lamantea). A special uncle to many nieces and nephews. Enrico had lots of friends who will remember him well.
Enrico’s life was full of ups and downs but also big wins in Campora San Giovanni, Cosenza, Italy as well as Northern Ontario. His stories were always sprinkled with Italian sayings and his own little phrases.
Whether you worked in food or not, his life was like a recipe for laughter, learning how to start a business from scratch, and living well while keeping family close. Mix two countries together with one war, add ten parts hard work plus a couple mentors thrown in for good measure; then stir in some luck with a pinch of cleverness along with loads of determination – that’s the story of seven decades filled with entrepreneurial grit.

Family and friends can gather at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East; 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Thursday morning from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
