Cambridge Police Save Person Trapped On Train Tracks

CAMBRIDGE, MA – On Thursday, the police department shared bodycam footage showing a tense rescue that happened at a train station back in December.

Officers got called to the Central Square MBTA station around 5 p. m. on Saturday, Dec. 27 after someone reportedly fell onto the tracks. Several officers hurried down the stairs into the underground station and moved toward the left side of the concourse on the outbound track area. A few bystanders pointed them toward the person needing help. The individual, whose name hasn’t been made public, was lying across the tracks and couldn’t move because of an injury. With a train due to arrive in less than a minute, two officers quickly jumped onto the tracks and lifted them up to safety on the concourse. The department said that after being rescued, this person was taken to a hospital for their injuries to be checked out.

There’s no criminal investigation connected to what happened.
