One person has been taken into custody after a vehicle was reported stolen in Cambridge back in August.
Authorities say that on Nov. 7, a 31-year-old man from Cambridge was arrested and charged linked to the case dating from Aug. 29.
At that time, police responded to calls about a stolen car in the Hespeler neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found the vehicle, confirmed it was stolen, and arrested someone who was a passenger inside. It turned out this individual was wanted by police in Ottawa and was already under release conditions.
The driver managed to get away before police got there.
The police also suspected there might have been some break-ins around that period, but no reports were filed.
The man now faces multiple charges including possession of stolen property over $5,000, driving while prohibited, and two counts of violating release orders.
He is currently being held until his bail hearing.
