27-year-old from Cambridge killed in collision east of the city

A man from Cambridge lost his life Sunday afternoon in a crash just east of the city.

The Ontario Provincial Police said they got the call around 5:40 and headed to a two-car accident on Highway 8.

The collision took place near Lynden Road, between Sheffield and Rockton.

Officers with the Burlington OPP found a 27-year-old Cambridge man had died at the scene.

A 69-year-old Hamilton man was taken to hospital but his injuries aren’t life threatening.

Police haven’t confirmed if these two were actually driving the vehicles involved.

The cars were only described as “passenger vehicles.”

The investigation is ongoing. OPP traffic investigators want to hear from anyone who might know what happened, especially those with dash cam footage from that area around that time.

You can contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or reach out anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or clicking here.
