Ontario Provincial Police in Brant County are still looking into a deadly crash on Sunday near Glen Morris involving a 68-year-old cyclist from Cambridge.

OPP and emergency teams got called to East River Road around 8:30 a. m. ET.

“A motorist who was travelling along East River Road this morning located an unresponsive cyclist in a ditch,” Const. Andrew Gamble said in a video on X, formally Twitter.

“That cyclist sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Police said the driver, a 65-year-old man from Brant County, didn’t stick around but was later found and charged.

Gamble mentioned police want anyone nearby who might have seen what happened or who has dash-cam or home camera footage to get in touch with Brant County OPP. This could include clips showing the vehicle, which probably has damage on its front after the crash.

“As far as information sharing is concerned, what might not necessarily be relevant or important for you may be very significant for investigators,” Gamble said.
