This week’s Cambridge Independent issue coming out Wednesday 6 August will announce who made it to the finals.

The winners will then be celebrated at a gala dinner held in the stunning Great Hall at King’s College on Thursday 25 September.

Leading the judging panel was editor Paul Brackley along with:
– Mike Scialom, business correspondent for Cambridge Independent
– Jonathan Greenhalgh, partner at headline sponsor Barr Ellison Law
– David Culley from recruitment company Pure sponsoring Employer of the Year;
– Natalie Dix heading marketing and communications at Cambridge BID supporting Retailer of the Year; and
– Richard Watson of BDO LLP backing Business of the Year (Large).

The group also had support from Ricky Allan – chief revenue officer at Iliffe Media which publishes Cambridge Independent – plus Lisa Jackson from Iliffe Media’s events crew. They met up at The Bradfield Centre run by Mantle Space which is sponsoring Innovation of the Year.

Paul said: “I’m grateful to my fellow judges for their time and expertise. It was wonderful to see the calibre and range of entries this year, which makes for a particularly strong shortlist. We look forward to revealing it – and to announcing the winners on 25 September.

Other sponsors include Astra Zeneca supporting The Award for Collaboration; The Cambridge Building Society backing Business Person of the Year; Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority sponsoring Mayor’s Scale-up of the Year; Conscious Communications behind Business of the Year (Medium); and Kale & Damson supporting Hospitality Business of the Year.”
