A familiar furniture store has shut down after serving the Cambridge community for more than 40 years.
The Gomes family runs C & G Solid Wood Furniture Company, having taken it over from another business back in 1978.
They’ve been running big clearance sales lately to move their stock before closing up shop. Their last day was December 15.
C & G announced on their website that they’re closing the Cambridge spot by year’s end. However, their Thornbury location, which opened in December 2012, will keep going.
Over the years, the company teamed up with many local Mennonite woodworkers to craft and customize solid wood furniture pieces.
