Waterloo regional police are looking into a break-in that happened over the weekend at a business in Cambridge.
Authorities say some unknown people got into the business near Sheldon Drive on Saturday, May 10, and stole items valued at more than $800,000.
Police have asked other businesses located between Sheldon and Conestoga Boulevard to review their security or surveillance footage for anything suspicious. They’re particularly interested in any unusual people, vehicles, or actions between 10 a. m. and 12:30 p. m. on May 10.
The police also shared some tips for businesses to help protect themselves:
- Take out valuables and cash before closing up shop.
- Think about getting a security system that lets you watch your place remotely – front, back, and inside.
- Install alarms that make loud noises if triggered.
- If you spot anything odd or suspicious, let the police know right away.
The investigation is still active with WRPS’ Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team working on it.
