Mrs. Eleanor Mc Murray, aged 92, who lived in Thunder Bay for many years, passed away peacefully with her family nearby at Southbridge Roseview on Monday, May 18th, 2026.
Eleanor began working when she was just 12 years old as a “cookee” at different bush camps across Northwestern Ontario. It was there, at age 16, that she met her future husband Donald and later married him. She also spent many years working as a waitress and bartender until 1985. After that, she turned her love for crafts into a business called “UNIQUE FAMILY CRAFTS,” which has been run by her family since 2000.
She will be fondly remembered by her daughters Carole (Don), Sharen, and Dawn (James).
Her granddaughters Jennifer and Julie (Andrei), along with great-granddaughter Emilia also remember her dearly.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Donald; brother Robert; mother Amelia; and father Einar.
The family wants to thank the staff at Roseview for the caring and kind support they gave Eleanor during her time there.
Also, thanks to everyone who shared their kind words and condolences. A funeral service will take place on May 29th at 10:30 am at Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel
