With heavy hearts, the family shares that Lenore Ritchie Gaudreault passed away after a long illness on Thursday, April 16, 2026, with her husband Marc-Andre at her side.
Born in Port Arthur, Ontario on January 11, 1951, Lenore lived in Thunder Bay all her life. Many folks might recognize her warm smile from years spent working at the Waverley-where she even worked alongside two of her sisters, Linda and Leah-as well as at Prosvita and other places around town.
She really valued her big family and all the nieces and nephews scattered across the country whom she cared for deeply. A special shout-out to her closest friends – Lillian Calder, Aileen Mc Cloud, Susan Kajmowicz – who always made time to visit or reach out when her health started to decline. Those calls and visits brought so much light to her days.
She leaves behind her loving husband Marc-Andre (Marco), nephews Michael (Jenni) along with great-nephews Reese and Rory Ritchie; brother-in-law Rick Dumas; nephew Jake (Ty); great-nephew Gabriel; great-nieces Sophia and Zachary; plus niece Katarina.
Kevin Halverson (Susan), Emily, Eric, Evan, plus great-nephew Clifford also remember her fondly. Ralph Halverson (Mary) along with Tyler, Erika and Dayna share memories too-with great-niece Emma among them.
Nieces and nephews from Alberta survive as well: Don Halverson (Janice), Brody and Kourtney; with great-nephew Ethan and great-niece Ayla.
Lenore was preceded in death by sisters Donna, Leah and Linda; brother Kirk; along with parents Orville and Mary Ritchie.
The family invites friends to gather on Saturday May 16th, 2026 at 3:00PM at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5 located at 229 Van Norman St to celebrate Lenore’s life together.
Cremation has been completed privately by family. Instead of flowers please consider donating to any charity you prefer.
