May 9, 1998 – April 18, 2026
Janis Eliza Desmoulin was born in Thunder Bay on May 9, 1998, and passed away on April 18, 2026.
She was the daughter of Gale Desmoulin and the late Dave Bidal. Janis was also a sister to Dale Desmoulin (Clarissa) and loved dearly by her nieces and nephews Chloe, Bailey, Ava, and Brayden.
On her father’s side, she leaves behind her grandmother Dianne Everett, aunt Renee Bidal, and brothers Jamie and Noah from Prince George. From her mother’s family came a big extended network of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will all miss her a lot.
Janis was preceded in death by her dad Dave Bidal; maternal grandparents Friedna and Frank Desmoulin; as well as paternal grandfather Gill Bidal.
She truly enjoyed being an aunt – it meant so much to her. She shared close ties with her nieces and nephews and took great pride in that role.
Her family love, warmth, and the impact she made will be remembered by everyone who knew her. Janis will stay alive in their hearts forever.
A wake is planned for Tuesday, April 28th at noon at the Long Lake #58 First Nation Recreation Centre. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 29th at 11:00 a. m. at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Longlac with Father Hugo Tremblay officiating. Burial follows at Longlac Cemetery.
The WESTFORT CHAPEL located at 420 West Gore Street in Thunder Bay is handling arrangements.
