November 9, 1951 – April 11, 2026
With heavy hearts, the family announces that Robert John Brtko, aged 64, died on April 11, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Robert came into this world on November 9, 1961, in Fort William, Ontario. He was the son of Steve Brtko and Thelma Huskins.
He really enjoyed organizing dinners and parties during holidays like Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving in his building. Robert was a big fan of dark roast coffee. His dog Karmen meant the world to him – even when he was hospitalized, she was his main worry. Uncle Archie gave Johnny his van so they could always head out for coffee and breakfast together or run errands and explore around town.
Robert leaves behind Uncle Jack (Merry) from Morden, Manitoba; Uncle Bruce (Brenda) from St. Catherines; Aunt Peggy (Gerard) from Edmonton; and Uncle Archie from Thunder Bay. He also had many cousins scattered across Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and British Columbia. His close friends Mogens and Lenore were always there for him and cared for him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents Steve Brtko and Thelma Huskins; brother Brian; Aunt Maryann; and Uncle Clifford.
Cremation has already taken place. A burial service at Hymers Cemetery will be arranged later on. You can leave online condolences at www. sargentandson. com.
