July 1, 1956 – March 20, 2026
His loving wife Sharon sadly announces that her husband Glenn passed away on March 20, 2026, at the age of 69.
Glenn married his “Soul Mate & Best Friend” Sharon on August 13th, 1988. Together with their son John and granddaughter Kaile, they shared many wonderful moments.
Glenn enjoyed traveling with Sharon to the States. He was a big fan of his football team, the Buffalo Bills.
He liked golfing, fishing, and wood carving. With his Husqvarna Chainsaw skills, Glenn shaped a lovely parkland area on Gorham Mountain.
He also enjoyed surveying alongside Bob & Ray at Cook Engineering. One summer when work was slow, Glenn and Sharon took on landscaping the Court Yards at TBRHSC. Later he returned to Cook Engineering and Genivar (now WSP Canada), where Primo Scalzo encouraged him to take courses to become a Senior Inspector. Glenn was dependable; he and Derek Ritson had some fun travel stories. Primo suggested Sharon join him sometimes where she handled traffic control during bridge deck inspections. Barry Robbins & Laurie Peters along with some younger staff formed a solid team.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Marlene & Ray Pitkanen and his in-laws Julie & Nick Livitski.
He leaves behind his son John (Karen), granddaughter Kaile; siblings Linda, Wendy, Reno (Linda), Tom (Bobbie), Dave (Lisa). Also brother-in-law John (Trudy) and sister-in-law Lynda (Jim). Special brother Clint. Nephews JJ, Thomas, Kole, Tysen, Eric, Kenneth, James. Nieces Mindy (our flower girl), Amanda, and Megan.
A special thanks to our friend Laurie Etter for always “Being There” for us.
Thanks also to Rachel & Stan for all their support over the years.
Many thanks to lifelong friend Karen for everything you’ve done.
Thank you as well to brother Tom.
We appreciate the care from nurses and students in TBRHSC’s 1A unit along with housekeeping staff like Amanda for their kindness and great care.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to PSWs Rhea, Aiolin, Natasha, Tina & Hannah for their help at home – your care won’t be forgotten.
The visitation will be held at Everest Funeral Chapel located at 299 Waverley Street at Algoma on Saturday March 28th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

Glenn will hold a special place forever in our hearts.
