Kari Lorrie Dorrance - Obituary - Northwest Ontario

June 3, 1986 – February 21, 2026

Kari Lorrie Dorrrance, aged 39, passed away on February 21, 2026 at TBRHSC surrounded by family and close friends. Everyone who supported us during this tough time often talked about Kari’s kind heart and how she was always ready to help anyone who needed it. True to who she was, Kari had signed her donor card so she could keep giving to others even after her passing.

She was born on June 3, 1986 at Port Arthur General Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Growing up on a farm in Murillo, Ontario from birth through high school shaped much of her life. Kari went to Thunder Bay Christian School, FWCI and Everest College where she earned a degree in Medical Assistance. She worked in various roles within the medical field.

Kari leaves behind her husband Justin Roberts and their four children: Olivia Dorrance, Holland, Tripp and Messer Roberts; also her mother Nancy Dorrance; siblings James, Elizabeth and Jonathon Dorrance; grandmother Joyce (Russ) Dubray; mother-in-law Diane Roberts; father-in-law Doug (Sandy) Roberts; brothers-in-law Steve (Bob) Roberts and Jeremy (Dana) Roberts; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father James Dorrance; grandfather Howard Lanktree; grandmother Myrna Dorrance; and grandfather James (Chris) Dorrance.

A big thanks to Mellissa Powell and Emily who came all the way from Newfoundland to be with us during this difficult time. The family is also grateful for the paramedics as well as the doctors and nurses in ICU at TBRHSC – especially Dr. Landell from the emergency department.

A private service for close family will be held at a later date.
