Obituary of John Griffiths | Windsor Chapel Funeral & Cremation

We are sad to share that John Arthur Henry Griffiths, aged 82, passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus on January 16, 2026.

He is now reunited with his dear late wife Pauline ‘Paula’ (née Gauthier).

John was the proud dad of Michelle Griffiths and James Griffiths (Suzanne), and a loving grandfather to Cooper and Keaton.

Born in Birkenhead, England, to the late Charles and Edith May (nee Waring). He was a brother to Charles (late Margaret), David (Linda), and the late Audrey Meacock. ‘Uncle John’ will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.

After working for 39 years at Hiram Walkers where he was also active in the union, John retired.

He donated blood more than 200 times through Canadian Blood Services, helping save many lives.

John loved cycling; he found peace riding out on the open road. He was a devoted Liverpool Football Club supporter. His adventurous nature, calm presence, and loyalty to family and friends will stay in their hearts. John also enjoyed spending winters as snowbirds with Paula in Tamiami Village, North Fort Myers, Florida.

A big thank you to the amazing staff who cared for John: Emergency Dr Bradford at Ouellette Campus, Respiratory Therapist John, Nurses Jenna, Alif, Reiley plus UNEs Diana and Maryam. The Richmond Terrace 3E Team for their kind support. Sunrise of Windsor’s caring 4th floor team who helped make John’s stay comfortable and assisted his family during this time. Also thanks to Home Instead caregivers for their help at home. And Dave for his conversations and physio work.

“You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

Cremation has been completed. A Celebration of Life is planned at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd E, Windsor on Thursday, January 29 from 6:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m., with Words of Remembrance starting at 6:30 p. m.
