Police have shared an update on progress for their new £45 million police station. Last year, Cambridgeshire Police said opening the new station next to Milton Park and Ride would be pushed back.

Originally, they planned to open it in November 2025. That was then moved to spring 2026. But a spokesperson now says it’s “nearing completion.”

South Cambridgeshire District Council gave planning permission for the station back in March 2021. This new site will take over from the current Parkside Police Station.

They started building in January 2024. The plans include twice as many cells, better facilities for tackling tricky crimes like fraud and online cases, plus improved road access so officers can get out faster.

A police spokesperson said before: “The construction work will still be largely complete by the end of the year [2025] but fitting out, installing systems like ICT will take us to the spring.”
